Hi Everyone,

Checking with all of you- are you still working on your paintings using notans and values, thumbnail sketches too? Good news! Cathy Quiel and I are presenting a workshop for the CLL Summer term. I'm really looking forward showing and sharing with you techniques using watercolor and pastel. I recently finished my yearly pastel workshop with my mentor Richard McKinley and am ready to paint with you. Below are some images from the workshop- it was hot, hot hot!

                   This is Los Carneros, and here is an area I wanted to paint, it was 90 in the shade!

Here is what I selected out of all I saw....notice no sky

Here is my underpainting using oil stain, you can also use watercolor

Gotta wait for the final painting, not finished but you get the idea.

July 26, 2014 Watercolor and Pastel Workshop: A Marriage of Pure Pigment

Watercolor and pastel supplies are necessary. Materials list will be supplied after registration, we will be supplying some pf the materials needed. There will be a one-hour lunch break.
